ABOUT US
Fredrik Movitz is a known figure in several songs written by Carl Bellman. Fredrik Movitz was a son to a resteraunteur, born in Stockholm 1721. It is known that they frequented the restaurants and bars in Gamla Stan (Old Town) during their adulthood, and the restaurant below is no exception. Here they socialized, drank aquavit and wrote famous pieces such as “Vårblomma”, “Träd Fram du Nattens Gud”, among others.
The cellar, where the A La Carte restaurant is located, is from the 1600, and has housed several kinds of business during the years. It has been a restaurant, brothel, and even a nightclub in the 1970’s. Down here you can enjoy everything from classical Swedish dishes to visits from both the French and Italian cuisine. We have a short but very thought through winelist as well.
If you’d rather just grab a beer and a quick Fish and Chips or Burger, the Pub upstairs is the place to be. Generous opening hours during both weekdays and weekends. Here we have lots of local and Swedish beers that are featured from different breweries around Sweden, and a few from abroad. The selection is always changing so keep tabs on our Instagram to see the latest additions.
